Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge Clean-Up Day! This event takes place Saturday September, 20th from 8am-1pm. Where: Playport Marina (located a couple miles east Carbondale- Route 13 East, 2nd stop light past the Carbondale Wal-Mart east store, turn right onto Spillway Road. Marina is the first active left turn traveing south on Spillway Road) Celebrate Public Lands Day a little early by participating in the annual Crab Orchard Clean up day. Free Lunch will be provided for all volunteers by the Friends of Crab Orchard and the first 200 registered volunteers will receive a free t-shirt! SIUC students will also earn Saluki Volunteer Corps volunteer hours (which also count toward the SIUC Environmental Ambassador Award for SIUC students- see: http://www.cehs.siu.edu/
